Stats Explained - Approach Accuracy

TheGrint has tons of powerful stats. Have you looked at your "Approach Accuracy" stats?

This section utilizes data from par 3 holes. If you're entering your tee shot accuracy while playing (left, right, hit, short, long), you'll see all of your shots from Par 3's that are typically played with an approach club. Since these are technically tee shots where you likely teed up your ball in a perfect lie, this isn't a 100% perfect match to your approach game. However, it should be a very strong directional indicator.

What stats are captured here?

  • Green hit and miss averages, filterable by clubs and models
  • Hit accuracy by hole distance (<125, 150, 175, 200, and 225+ holes)
  • Strengths and weakness indicators comparing your game to similar skill level grinters
  • Trended par 3 hit % per round

What can you learn from these stats?

  • What is your standard miss across the bag?
  • Are there certain clubs where your hit/miss rate is more problematic?
  • How does your accuracy change the longer the yardage increases?
  • How often do you miss long, and do you have FOGL (Fear of Going Long?)
