Do you know which hole this is?

This is the incredible 15th Hole of the Old Course of Ballybunion Golf Club in Ireland, in Sandhill Road, Co. Kerry.

This course was established in 1893 and only had 12 holes. In 1898 the course struggled financially and had to close. In 1906 the course re-opened with 9 holes. In 1926 the Old Course was extended to 18 holes. Nowadays it is a Par 71 for Men and 74 for Women, with 6,802 yards from the farthest tees. The links are maintained firm and fast. The greens are complex, shinny, full of humps, dips and surrounded by pot bunkers.

When this course was created and designed, there wasn't much done to it. The Course was naturally created, with dunes next to the ocean and hills perfect for the  "finest seaside links" like Herbert Warren-Wind said in 1971 when he wrote in the New Yorker magazine.

This is an incredible place to go, not only because of the amazing golf course and sceneries, but also because of the history in that remote town.

If you are looking for a place to scape, somewhere unique and special, Ballybunion is the place to go. for more information, you can go to the Ballybunion Golf Club Website here.
